Privacy Notice

Who is responsible
John Arnot Hawkins (trading as Review Radar) is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. That means the seller decides why and how your data is used.
Data collected, why, and legal basis
- Account data — email address, and where you choose to give it, a display name. Used to create and secure your account and to contact you about it. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Sign-in provider data — if you sign in with Google or Lovable, the provider sends your email and profile name. Used to sign you in. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Saved reviews — the review titles, links and sources you choose to save. Used to show you your list. Legal basis: contract performance.
- AI requests — the review titles and summaries you ask the AI to summarise, plus a short record of the request. Used to answer you and to keep the feature working and fair. Legal basis: legitimate interests (providing and securing the feature).
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser details, and basic usage logs. Used for security, fraud prevention, and fixing problems. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages — anything you send the seller. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Review Radar is free and takes no payments, so no card or billing details are ever collected.
Who sees the data
- Service providers and sub-processors (hosting, database, AI and email infrastructure).
- Professional advisers such as legal or accounting advisers.
- Public authorities, where the seller is required by law to disclose data.
How long data is kept
Account and saved-review data is kept while your account is open and deleted shortly after you close it. Security and usage logs are kept for a short period. If the feature is no longer needed, data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You can also close your account at any time. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority, and the seller will reply within one month. Data may be processed outside the UK/EEA using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
The seller uses appropriate technical and organisational measures — encrypted transport, access controls, and per-user data isolation — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but the seller works to keep your information safe.
Cookies and local storage
- Essential — a sign-in session stored in your browser so you stay signed in, plus a remembered preference for whether background music is on and its volume. These are required for the features to work.
- Analytics / marketing — not used by this Service.
You can clear these at any time through your browser settings; signing out and clearing site data removes them.
Children
Review Radar is not directed at children under 13, and accounts for under-13 users must be created and managed by a parent or guardian.
